On April 15, 2023, Sudan experienced a violent outbreak of conflict involving two principal factions: the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), a paramilitary group, and the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF). This escalation of violence marked a significant intensification of the ongoing tumultuous situation within the country. Initially concentrated in the capital city of Sudan, Khartoum, this conflict rapidly extended its reach to encompass other regions. Despite the declaration of several ceasefires, none have yielded substantial improvements in the overall security landscape.
